Taking over the reins of the Bayleys Midlands Men’s team in 2012 is Brent Edwards (Eddy).    Eddy is supported by ex Black Stick Lloyd Stephenson whose game knowledge will be utilised both on and off the turf in his dual role as Assistant Coach and team member.

On the turf, Lloyd is supported by the experience of current Black Sticks Stephen Graham and Blair Hopping, and current Kookaburra Tim Deavin who will be joining the team straight from the Aussie Olympic camp.

Nearly all 18 of the athletes have played in the National Hockey League in the past, and the experience of Development Squad athletes Ricky Clark and Nick Ross, along with a second Aussie import, Scott Hughes, gives Eddy a powerful defense and midfield.  The youth and speed of the front five could pose problems for the opposition defence.
