Hello and Welcome

I am very proud to be the Principal of Oueroa School, a role I took up on 21st July 2008.  

I have been teaching since 1978 and have worked in a variety of schools, from teacher in a small rural school through to being part of the management team in a large Hastings school.

Having lived in Hastings for most of my life, I have now moved to Waipukurau along with my husband and daughter and look forward to many years of involvement with Oueroa School. It is a school with a lot of heart.

During my career I have taught at all levels from 5 year olds through to 13 year olds.

I enjoy the ‘family feeling’ here at Oueroa where the older pupils support and encourage the younger pupils.

I also find that the children learn quickly from each other, the juniors benefiting from listening to the more advanced ideas offered at discussion times and the seniors learning to support and encourage the younger children.
