Welcome to our Rotherham School web site!  

Rotherham School is a small unique country school located in the township of
Rotherham established in 1883.  We pride ourselves on offering the students at Rotherham School a high quality education which is enhanced by our small class sizes.  

We cater for Year 1 – 6 students and have a current roll of 40.  The family atmosphere fostered in our two small classes is a school strength, along with our whole school approach to learning.

We provide a safe, happy environment and receive tremendous support from our local community. Friday assemblies are very popular where we celebrate the successes of the student’s achievements.

We currently have experienced and dedicated staff of 2 teachers, a principal release teacher, a part time office administrator, cleaner, caretaker and a very dedicated Board of Trustees and Home and School Association.

Exciting events held at Rotherham School include our annual swimming sports, cross country, educational visits to Christchurch, school concerts, Wild Hair Day, senior room camps and in 2007 – a senior room trip to Wellington!
