From the Principal
Newsletter 8 December 2011
This is the final newsletter for this year and contains a number of reminders about events coming up and items that need returning to school.
As this is the final newsletter I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff for all their hard work over the year. They consistently go the extra mile (kilometre?) without ever having to be asked and truly care about the children in their care.
Thank you also to the members of the Board of Trustees and Mangamaire Country School Association for their willingness to give so freely of their time and energy for the advancement of the school.
And finally thank you to the parents who have supported the school in so many other ways. Whether driving to sports events, helping your child do their homework or just making sure your child has a healthy lunch each day you are all contributing in important ways to teaching and learning at Mangamaire Country School.
Thank you to you all and wishing you all a merry Christmas and happy New Year.
School Structure 2012
Next year we are anticipating an opening roll of 30 students based on the assumption that all of this year’s students will return and the children we know of who are turning five over the holidays turn up on the first day. In addition there is the possibility of two or three additional enrolments in our senior class from enquiries recently made by families in the wider community.
Based on this information it seems likely that next year will see students in Yrs 1, 2 & 3 (a total of nine children) in Room 3 with Ms Boyack and students in Yrs 5, 6, 7, & 8 (a total of 15 children - potentially 17 with ‘outside’ enrolments) in Room 5 with Mr Hudson and Mr Grimmer.
Students who are in Yr 4 next year (seven children) are likely to be split between the two classes with three or four in each class. Parents of children in Yr 4 next year will be contacted in January and the decision about class placement of their child will be made in close consultation with them. It is not my preference to split a year group in this way but next year’s numbers make this the most likely scenario at this time.
Return of School T Shirts
Could all children’s t-shirts please be returned to the school office washed and in a named bag before the end of term as a stocktake needs to be done over the holidays. |
