How to make a free new website for your SPORTS ORGANISATION, CLUB or SCHOOL

PLEASE NOTE: This service is reserved for New Zealand sports organisations, sports clubs, schools, sports teams and classrooms to create and edit free websites. If you represent one of these groups, please follow the four simple steps below.

After clicking on ‘Make a new FREE website’ in the function panel:

Step 1:

Select ‘My club, school or organisation’ and click the ‘Next’ button.

Step 2:

Select your region from the list or map, and either ‘School’ or find your sport from the dropdown list. (If more than one applies, you will be able to add more later.) Click the ‘Next’ button to continue creating your free site.

Step 3:

Free websites already exist for many thousands of kiwi sports clubs and schools. Check whether a website already exists for your school or club by double-checking the search results.

Step 4:

If a site already exists for your sports organisation, club or school, and you believe you should have rights to edit the site, you can select it from the list and apply to edit the site. This generates an e-mail asking to allow you to co-edit the site. (If, after waiting several days for your request to be approved, you want to report that your request has been ignored or wrongly declined, click ‘Report abuse’ from that site.)

If a site does not already exist for your sports organisation, club or school, click the ‘Make new site’ button. Then:

Step 5:

  • Enter your club name.
  • Choose your own unique web address here. You will be able to access your site later by typing this address into your browser’s address bar. This can be changed later if you wish.
  • Select your organisation type from the dropdown menu.
  • Click the ‘Finish’ button.

You will be asked to enter your name, daytime telephone number and email address, then click ‘Submit’ so you can be verified as an authentic representative for your sports organisation, club or school. Your site will remain hidden from public view until you have been authenticated. In the meantime, you can login and make changes to your new website..
